GTFO: Women in Welsford

Climbing is one of those sports that seems intangible; the gear, the know how, the accessibility, the potential risks. But, what if you could take that first step with the shared knowledge, all the gear, all the access and none of the planning and all of the fun?
In partnership with Ascent NB, GTFO Adventure Club is bringing you to the best climbing crag in the province to get your hands on some real rock. This beginner friendly, no experience necessary day in Welsford NB is meant to introduce you to the world of rock climbing in a judgement free, inclusive and positive space with some amazing female climbers.
Sometimes we visit these places and we do amazing things, but do we truly stop to take it in, or is it all just selfies and high fives? For the day, we will split into groups. Half of the group will be on the rock while the other half will be experiencing the beauty of the Welsford landscape from the cliffs through an Art in Nature workshop - then, we’ll switch.

Here’s what the day looks like:
(Note: times may change based on conditions and general merriment):

9am: Leave from Fredericton in carpools from Fredericton Exhibition Grounds
10am-10:30am: Get gear sorted and hit the trail to the crag
11:30am: Split into groups for climbing / Art in Nature
12:45pm - Group Lunch
1:00pm - Climbing / Art
2:30pm - 3:00pm: Clean up & hike back to vehicles for gear drop off
3:00pm - 4:00pm Drop off at Fredericton Exhibition grounds, high fives.
