Pride 2019

It’s the busiest week of the year for your favourite outdoorsy queers. We’re riding, paddling, climbing, and marching with our favourite folks from both communities.

As queer women, we’ve spent our lives carving out space in communities that are run by men and dominated by heteronormativity. Our mission to create community, capacity, and confidence in women in the outdoors extends to LGBTQAI2S+ womxn. Our gender inclusivity policy is below, but at the end of the day, if you want to GTFO with a rad bunch of women, and you identify as such, JOIN US.

On Sunday , August 18th we’ll be marching in the Fredericton Pride Parade. If you would like to march with us please join us behind the Legion (see map here) by 12pm. Dress in your brightest colours and comfiest hiking boots, and join our float. ALL are welcome to support our organization on this day, any gender or sexuality, as long as you love the outdoors.

Also on the go this week;

On Wednesday night we’re going on a Big Queer Canoe Trip! We’ve got two 14 person canoes, and we’ll be having a drag race down the Wolastoq river. Drag queens and kings will lead our boats over a 2 hour paddle.

Our friends at the Radical Edge are putting on a Pride Ride to show their love for our community. Decorate your bikes, yourself and join us for a short bike ride around the downtown. This event is led by our GTFO Founder Kaylee, and will have prizes for the best decorated bikes.

Find us (Kaylee and Stef) at the Pride Festival in our blue GTFO shirts, or our volunteers in orange . We’ll be selling tshirts and giving out special edition Pride stickers!
